Starting from slime, ending with boil

Nosy or nasal stools are often considered to be a nuisance and must be removed. But in fact, the presence of booger in the nose indicates that the working system of your nasal organs is still functioning properly. Everyone must have picked their noses to get their nose out. Upil is a runny nose or mucus that dries up in the nose. The presence of boogers is very reasonable because mucous membranes in the nasal cavity continue to produce mucus to coat the inside of the nose.

Mucus as a Form of Natural Defense

Mucus in the body can be found in the digestive tract, breathing, and nose. This mucus in the nose is called snot. The nose and sinus cavity will continuously produce mucus to coat the nasal cavity. Unwittingly, the nose and sinuses produce about one liter of snot every day. The aim, of course, is to prevent dangerous foreign objects, such as dust, germs, pollen, and dirt in the air, from entering the respiratory tract. Dust and dirt will eventually stick to snot and cilia (fine hair on the inside of the nose). Dirt attached to the snot will dry up and become boiled, both wrapped in mucus and dry. It also plays a role in keeping the air you breathe warm, moisturizing the inside of your nose, and protecting your lungs. If dust and dirt enter the respiratory tract directly, the lungs can become infected and become irritated, making it difficult for you to breathe. In the rainy season, the body responds to cold air and the viruses that cause colds that are scattered by increasing snot production.

The Risk of Nosing

In addition to cleaning the nose, picking your nose or picking out the nose for excrement sometimes is done unconsciously as a habit when feeling uneasy. Be careful, picking your nose has the potential to interfere with health because germs on the fingers used to pick your nose can cause an infection in the nose. Conversely, booger can contain germs that can move to the fingers. If you do not wash your hands immediately, the fingers that have been used for picking your nose can spread certain viruses, such as influenza viruses. In addition, picking your nose is not a good thing to do because it can injure the lining of the nose and cause nosebleeds. Exhaling air from the nose until it comes out is the best way to clean nasal discharge. Use a tissue or handkerchief so that the booger doesn't fall anywhere. But if you like to put your finger in your nose, whether intentional or not, make it a habit to wash your hands and trim your nails regularly to reduce the risk of spreading germs. One trick for maintaining nasal hygiene, try to clean the booger every morning or night while bathing. In this way, you can avoid picking your nose during the day while interacting with many people. You can also clean your nose with salt water spray using a special tool (neti pot) or inhale warm water vapor. In addition, use an air humidifier (humidifier) so that the boil formed in the nose does not harden and is easy to clean. If boogers appear accompanied by other health problems, such as frequent nose bleeding, boogers often green, yellow, or black, fever, headaches, or swelling and pain around the nose, you should consult an ENT specialist.
